Dr. Jessica Samuel, CEO & Founder of Radical Education & Advocacy League, LLC, is an educator, interdisciplinary scholar, and decolonial activist. Her work focuses on race, education, colonialism, and the environment – including where they all might converge – in the United States and the Caribbean.

At today's Environmental Justice Seminar, Dr. Samuels will present her talk, "Saving America's Paradise: The Colonial Nature of Disaster Relief in U.S. Virgin Islands." This is a virtual event.

This seminar series is interdisciplinary and open to the public. We encourage undergraduate and graduate students to attend.

The series is funded through the Natural Resource Association of Graduate Students, the Natural Resource Science and Management program, and the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Long Term Ecological Research Project. Thank you for the support and encouragement. Thank you to the Forest Resources Department for allowing us to host this in conjunction with your regular seminar series.
