Open Position: Assistant Professor in Urban and Community Forestry

The Department of Forest Resources at the University of Minnesota invites qualified candidates to apply for a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position specializing in Urban and Community Forestry with responsibilities for research (50%) and teaching (50%). The successful candidate will establish a nationally-recognized research program that addresses important issues affecting urban and community forests. This research would be undertaken in collaboration with other faculty located at the University of Minnesota, as well as scientists and practitioners locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Additionally, the successful candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in urban and community forestry choosing from a variety of modalities and formats in topics such as arboriculture, urban greenspace management, and others as assigned. 

The position is in the Department of Forest Resources and located on the St. Paul Campus. The successful candidate will have access to the Department’s urban forestry laboratory and nursery. The position is available January 2023 or August 2023. Application review will begin October 1, 2022
