Now hiring: Climate Adaptation Specialist

University of Minnesota, Department of Forest Resources and the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science are seeking a Climate Adaptation Specialist (Researcher 5) to synthesize and communicate scientific information on how a changing climate will affect lowland, riparian, wetland, and shoreline ecosystems of the Great Lakes and Midwest and Northeast US to identify and evaluate potential land management responses to reduce climate risks and facilitate adaptation.

The position will work as part of the NFCH / NIACS team to (1) create synthesis products and resources that enhance the awareness and integration of climate change considerations into regional land management activities; (2) provide training and technical assistance to natural resources managers working across a variety of regional ecosystems; (3) deploy the best available science to enhance and support land management planning and decision-making processes given climate change and uncertainty.
