Lee Frelich discusses Canadian wildfires on Almanac

With more than 400 wildfires burning in Canada – over half of which are considered out of control – swaths of the East Coast have been engulfed in a thick haze of smoke and air quality alerts have been issued in Minnesota.

Why are these fires occurring and why are they so severe? Lee Frelich, director of the Center for Forest Ecology at the University of Minnesota, stopped by TPT's Almanac last Friday to explain.
