Public support is an important part of managing invasive species. In this video, Dr. Ingrid Schneider, professor in the Department of Forest Resources, University of Minnesota, provides a research summary for natural resource and forest managers on how to effectively communicate about management actions to increase public awareness and support. The research relates specifically to managing forests in response to emerald ash borer, but can be broadly applied to communications of natural resource and forest management.
This information is the result of a research project completed in 2023: "Integrated emerald ash borer management: testing a novel approach to assess stakeholder perceptions".
This research was funded by the Minnesota Invasive Terrestrial Plants and Pests Center (MITPPC), supported by the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (ENRTF) as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR).
