2/20: Joe Vital, East Phillips Neighborhood Institute

Join us to hear Joe Vital, a South Minneapolis community organizer who advocates with the East Phillips Neighborhood Institute (EPNI), speak about how the East Phillips community has been working for almost a decade to establish a community-owned indoor urban farm. The East Phillips neighborhood is primarily low-income and one of the most racially diverse communities in the state, and experiences some of the worst racial health disparities due to toxic environmental pollution in the state.

The series is funded through the Natural Resource Association of Graduate Students, the Natural Resource Science and Management program, and the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Long Term Ecological Research Project. Thank you for the support and encouragement. Thank you to the Forest Resources Department for allowing us to host this in conjunction with your regular seminar series.
