The Richard C. Newman Community Impact Award recognizes a faculty member or extension educator who bridges scientific discovery and real-world application. This award honors innovative partnerships and natural resource programming that create a sustainable, long-term impact on our communities. Angela was recognized for her outstanding contributions, commitment, passion for outreach, and making a powerful community impact.
Gupta’s research focuses on terrestrial invasive species, climate-ready woodlands, and participatory science, including outreach for invasive species early detection education. Aside from UMN Extension, she contributes to work in the Minnesota Invasive Terrestrial Plants and Pests Center, My Minnesota Woods program, and is a founding member of the Minnesota Women’s Woodland Network.
