A bare bur oak tree casts dramatic shadows on the snow below it.
The beloved bur oak near the Green Hall entrance cast dramatic shadows on fresh snow last winter. Photo by Lee Frelich. 

Forest Resources Researcher Lee Frelich spotted this remarkable scene from a third-floor window of Green Hall last winter. He was taken by how the limbs of the bur oak mingled with their shadows over the fresh snow.
